“Arizona Behavioral Health Corporation (ABC)” provides quality, affordable housing and community services for persons with behavioral health needs and others with similar housing challenges in Arizona.
ABC is proud if it’s 18 year history of housing the most vulnerable populations. Through the additional HUD funding, over the years, we have been able to more than double the amount of people housed. We currently house over 3,000 people, 781 who are chronically homeless, 293 families and 116 veterans.
Our programs are unique compared to most homeless housing providers. We prioritize individuals who have been determined to be Seriously Mentally Ill that may not even be clean and sober. It is truly amazing the positive difference one can make in a person’s life when appropriate wrap-around services and safe housing are provided. You can break, or at least reduce, the cycle of jail and emergency room visits. Individuals can reunite with families in a stable environment and seek and receive appropriate acute and behavioral health services. The housing services ABC provides are not just humane, but are clinically indicated and statutorily mandated. A safe place to eat and sleep is what most of us take for granted. Providing this basic service to homeless individuals is nothing short of life saving while also reducing the costs to society.
